Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz, who was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her in honor of her hometown. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father came from the Jewish family. Ryder believes she is Jewish. The actress is the younger sister of Uria as well as half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder as well as her entire family moved to Mendocino County in California in the year 2000, when Ryder was just seven. The family resided in an area without electric power. The books on television were Ryder's only distraction for her time, and she was a voracious reader. Ryder began taking acting lessons at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was twelve years old. When she was 15years old, Ryder was offered her very first role on screen, in Lucas. Ryder was subject to bullying in highschool. She hoped that her career in acting would end this. Unfortunately that didn't come to pass. Still, she kept chasing her dreams. Her breakthrough came with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder continued playing characters that made a splash in several movies. She received nominations for two Academy Awards one for her performance on The Age of Innocence (1993).
