Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and a businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a philanthropist, author TV personality, and the owner of the online, independent newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington immigrated to England with her family at age 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. The first non-native English speaking student, she was elected the president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. In the years following her graduation, she was an influential conservative syndicated journalist. In the years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured an unbiased critique of the political scene. She was able to get numerous prominent contributors who shared their opinions on culture and political issues. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to run as an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election in order to replace Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of the Detroit fuel-efficient car project. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as the most influential women in the media, achieving 12th position in the ranking. In the same year Guardian placed her in their top 100 of the media lists. AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post, and she was made president of this group of media. It included a variety of AOL properties at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Parents were Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management consultant and journalist. While she was closely associated with her father it was her relationship with her mother, which formed her life. In her earliest years she demonstrated the ability to lead that has gained a reputation. When she turned 16 she relocating to the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. At the time of her studies she was a member of Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman and the only foreign president. After graduating in 1972, she received the degree of master's in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a columnist critic, and a television host. Then she appeared on an episode of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
